1871 Census look up for Washington, Sussex
« on: Thursday 10 May 07 00:50 BST (UK) »
Hi there

Does anyone have access to the 1871 Census for Washington, Sussex.  I'm looking for William Kenchett and family.  William was born in 1863 so would be aged about 8.  10 years later he is a foot soldier in Chichester.

Also if you can find Emily Holland born c1868 in Horsham.  She and William married and settle in Findon, which is north of Worthing.

Many thanks
Jan  :)

Hi Gillian

Thanks for your message but I think I started the thread quite some time ago.  I was doing a bit of research for someone I used to work with also by the name of Gillian.  Would that be you from the old L&E days?

Hi Gill

Yes it is me, I should have recognised it being you from your login name.  ;D

I posted that message years ago when we'd been talking about the Kenchett name and you showed me that photo of your ancestor taken outside a shop in Findon village.

Have you managed to find out anymore?

I trust you're keeping well?  Shame about your holiday being cancelled but how was the spa?

After I replied I remembered you doing it for me 😂. My sister found it and we both got curious! The spa was lovely ty not been to Bath before - lovely city. Family history going well not so much on dad side but on my mums side getting quite far, even related to Sir Frances Weston beheaded for treason for alleged dalliance with Anne Boleyn!! Hope you’re keeping well. Did mention on fb wd be good to have a reunion - been so long since we’ve all got together xxx
