1891 & 1901 Census - William Kirkley

Hello,
William Kirkley was b. 1856 Hutton Magna.
His wife was Mary.
In 1883 they had  Thomas William in Mickleton.
In 1884 they had Elizabeth Ann in Piercebridge.
In 1887 they had John in Piercebridge.
Please would it be poss. for a lookup on the 1891 & 1901 for this family.

Baden Powell Kirkley? I presume that he must have been interested in scouting, but I didn't think that the scouts started until 1907. Curious.

After I'd stopped laughing, I thought about it. They must have held him in high regard to name their child after him.
Or was it the equivillant of naming a child today after a TV soapstar?  ;D ;D ;D

He was a lieutenant-general in the British Army and in the Second Boer War in 1899 he successfully defended the city in the Siege of Mefeking, so I suppose he was quite a hero at the time   :)

That is quite nice to name your child after a hero, but couldn't thry have named him Robert Baden-Powell Kirkley. It would have sounded better than just using a double barrel surname as his forenames.  ::)
