Looking for Bride (Berkshire)
« on: Friday 11 May 07 10:17 BST (UK) »
Hello,
Im looking for the wife of Thomas TARRANT B1836 Berkshire (could be CHADDLESWORTH).
Her first name was Emma ????
They had about 8 children.
I am interested in finding Emma's Maiden name, also her family & sibblings.

Thanks,
Tinkerbell.

seems to be with a Harriott in 1861 census born c1839, Berks Brightalton - btw, the Chaddleworth PoB is correct for Thomas....

No kids, but they are in Burnham, Bucks where the oldest dau Emma was born according to the 1881 census ...

will delve a bit deeper  :)

and finally we find that its Emma GOFF !

She was 37 / 38 on the 1881 census, so this may be a 2nd marriage for her too

Cant see Emma as a GOFF with that DoB and PoB in 1871 - recommend you get the 1880 Marriage Cert and ascertain actual maiden name in case it was a 2nd marriage for her ...

Hello Newfy,
Thank you for all that help you have given me, I guess I should really get the marriage Certificate...to see which wife is which & yes perhaps it is a second marriage. I have Emma Married to Thomas there first child was born 1861 named Emma, so perhaps Harriet could have been 2nd Wife ????
I have just checked the 1881c & my Thomas is still Married to Emma.
I don't really think Thomas was married to Harriet as this death is 1879 & Thomas & Emma's 1st child was born 1861 ??
Open for answers ?????

I think I'm right - but I would say that !

1861 shows Thomas & Harriett  together - as yet childless, just after the marriage I show above in 4Q 1860  ..

So I think Emma is Harriets daughter. Harriett is with Thomas in 1871, so kids shown there are hers.
Note Harriett jnr ....

Harriet dies 1879, Thomas waits a year and marries Emma  .. the dates and places etc all gell !

So thats why you see what you see in 1881, just after the marriage....
