Back to Mary Ann's first marriage:

Baxter Christmas JACOBS
Mary Anne MANN

on same page, Jun 1860 King's Lynn 4b 565

His birth

Baxter Christmas JACOBS Dec 1839 Wisbech 14 143

His death

either

Baxter Christmas JACOBS Sep 1864 Hartlepool 10a 69

or Baxter JACOBS aged 31,  Mar 1870 Guisbro' 9d 329

Presumably it was the latter death, although middle name not included, as Mary Ann(e) was having JACOBS babies in Guisbro' district up to 1869.  The 1864 death may have been of a child of this couple, though I can't see the child's birth.

Yes, I thought that might happen.  In fact I think that the William I found in 1871 with wife Sarah Jane was living (with previous wife Harriet) next door to "our" William and Sarah in 1861.  Oh well.

There is a W F, 35, b Yorks in the Clerkenwell House of Correction in 1871, but he's a "stevedore on ship" which seems unlikely.
