Jennie MacBeth - Rochford
« on: Friday 11 May 07 23:01 BST (UK) »
A stab in the dark, but all help gratefully received!
I'm looking for any info on a Jennie Y (Yates/Yeates) MacBeth, who was listed in the 1901 census as living as a boarder 'on her own means' at 83 East Street in Rochford, aged 37, with the family of Richard and Annie Cripps. Jennie died in Bristol in 1915, aged 51.
Jennie was married to one of the founding fathers of Rangers FC and I'm looking to trace any info on her from that time. There seems to be some kind of personal tragedy as the youngest of her three sons - Norman, aged 11, returned to Scotland to live with Jennie's mum in Cathcart around 1900.
Even any info on East Street or Rochford at the turn of the 20th century would be most appreciated. Many thanks in advance for any guidance offered.
