Evening Chronicle Newcastle
« on: Thursday 17 May 07 11:20 BST (UK) »
My uncle (Edward Wilson Whitfield) died in 1982 in Workington Cumberland. In his will he left my mother some money and an advert was put in the Evening Chronicle (Newcstle) to find her by, I think, my other uncle Billy. I am trying to find this advert. Her name was Catherine McGarry. Can anyone help? Cass

The local record office will also know who holds films of the paper.  All newspapers are held in London at Colindale if you are near there.    I doubt very much if they will be indexed so it will mean a search of each one around the right time.
