Hi Genewizard
Could she be the Fanny Bance in 1901 b Cooling - which is in the Hoo Reg District?
If so, I can see her with her family in 1881 indexed as Barnes - but the writing is unclear on the census sheet.

Good find Ricky - I'd just given up on 1881, and went back to 1871 to try and pin down James ...

Same Family ..

1871 - RG10/901; Folio: 20; Page: 2 - Cooling, Hoo District ...

Strange actually, thats not the 1st time that using Regn District in 1881 has failed - must be different indexing to the Ancestry based census - assuming they used LDS data ?

But can you find them in 1891 - I'm not having any luck with James and Jane although I can see their son James.
