Luton Church Cemetery
« on: Friday 18 May 07 17:51 BST (UK) »
Does any body live close to Luton Church Cemetery  who would kindly have a look to see if they can find a grave for Veronica Batten (her middle name was Davis, her maiden name was Douglas)
Veronica was born 1906, she was wife to Roland Batten & mother to Doreen, Rosamund, Geoffrey and Douglas.
She died between 1989 and 1991.
This lady was my grandmother. I was not allowed by my family to attend her funeral and I did not find out about her death until she had been buried/cremated.
If possible I would love a photo of where she is. I live in Taunton, Somerset. so if anybody wants me to search for a grave around here I am willing to and to take photos for you.
Many Thanks
Liz

I recieved this email...
Unfortunately using the details you supplied I can find not record of
the above being cremated or buried here at the Vale in the time span you
indicated.  Neither could I find any record of her burial in Rothesay
Road Cemetery (also council administered).  It is possible she was
buried in Luton Church Cemetery.

Surnames... Davis (London), Douglas(London), Batten (Berkshire/Hampshire), Wyton (Birmingham/Litchfield), Mudie (Birmingham), Swann (Birmingham), Browne (Surrey), Norman (Herefordshire), Foster (Bath), Taylor (Blaenavon/Wales), Cadman (Birmingham & Shrewsbury)

You have found her, I was told that she died in Luton, she used to live in Olde Windsor before she got unstable, so Bracknell would be very possible.
So I was told that she was dead before she even died.
Many Thanks
Liz

No, thank you for telling me, it would be her 101 birthday this weekend, so I am going to Bracknell and hunt, I was going off to Luton, which would of been a wasted day trying to find her.
Many many Thanks
Liz
