Wisbech parish records
« on: Friday 18 May 07 18:06 BST (UK) »
Hi

Can anyone tell me where these are held, or if anyone can check a couple of burials there for me.

Cheers

Jay

Details of the three Wisbech parishes can be found at www.genuki.org.uk

Depending on the dates you might also find details in the burial index on the Cambs FHs website at http://www.cfhs.org.uk/Search.html

Or just post details of what you're looking for

Regards

David

Thanks for your reply, i've had a look at the site but the dates i'm after aren't covered.

I'm looking for the following couple

Soloman Haggett/Haggith died March 1/4 1855

Mary Haggett/Haggith died June 1/4 1885

On the census they were living at Wisbech, St Peter.

Cheers

Hi

Most Wisbech Parish records are kept in the Wisbech and Fenland Museum - details and to make an appointment, please telephone 01945 583817.

I have checked through the records of the Non-Conformist Cemetery records, but cannot find any record there, so maybe they were buried in one of the others.  St Peters and St. Pauls had several other graveyards around the town.

So far, I have been unable to find any records, but I will try and get to the FHS on Thursday this week, though I cannot promise too much.  I have Printed a copy of the deatils you have posted, so will see what I can do.  I am a member of the Fenland FHS, which covers Wisbech and the Fens.  http://www.fenlandfhs.org.uk/

HTH
Drake, Blackhall, Roney, Lovell.  Parry, Edwards,  Pardoe, Braun/Brawn/Bryan, all in Bethnal Green, Stepney, Whitechapel, Mile End, Tottenham, Palmers Green and Edmonton area.
