Census Look up Please?

Hi

Could someone please look up an 1841 census for me?
I am looking for James Crouch, born about 1818, Brightling.

I have seen the 1881 census and he is married to a Elizabeth. I also found a possible marriage for him to a Elizabeth Dray in 1849, Battle, Sussex.

Would also appreciate any census info between 1851-1871.
I know they had 1 son named John Crouch, born abt 1856, Brightling.

Any help appreciated!

I think the first one fits bit better as James age is closer to what i have. Yet the occ for the 2nd one fits, yet i don't know what a cordwainer is! Will need to look that one up!

Do you have the sons birth certificate?

There is a marriage for James Crouch 1843 Battle among the woman is a Elizabeth Ann Leaney.

No i don't have birth cert, James was living with son in 1891 census. When i looked at 1881 found one strong possiblility and it was James living with wife Elizabeth. I missed that marriage so it could be the one!

Oh and a cordwainer is some sort of shoemaker...strange for my James, 1881 he was a farm lab, maybe i'll need to consider the 2nd census a bit more! Yet by 1881 he was a bit older, occs can change!

Dont forget on the 1841 census they used to put the ages up or down by 5 years.

Looks like the John and Frances from 1841 could be the parents.
