Hiya,

I have just got back from Springwood cemetry. I found the headstone of your rellie, albiet, a small one. Grave Ref: Gen 4, 617.

He was buried on 23rd April 1917, at 3pm, age 41. Not sure if his wife, Esther is in the same grave, but will try and find out. He lived in Wambo Lane, Gateacre, Liverpool 25. Sorry, I don't have the house number. I have looked in my A to Z and it looks like the lane is still there. But, if memory serves me, I don't think it is. I will check when I have some time.

If you pm me your email addy, I will forward you the photo's I took of the grave.

Cheers,

Red    :)

Thanks Alan,

I have only been researching for a year.

But, once you have the grave reference and a map of the cemetery, it's not too hard after that. I do also know Springwood personally very well.

I would be interested to find out if this Charles Herbert Link had any children, my Grandfather was Charles Herbert Link born (or registered) in Alveley 1897. Is your Charles Herbert possibly my Great Grandfather? Do you have any further information about the Link family and Alveley?
