James DELMEGE, baptized 1787, Rathkeale m. c.1814 one Mary KIRBY. She bore him 5 children ,all noted as Born or Baptized at Rathkeale, followed him to Chatham Twp in OnT, canada and died there1848. That`s all I know about her. More information is always good. Thanks

Delmege is a Palatine surname. 3000 Palatines arrived in Ireland at the beginning of the eighteenth century ... September 1709 in fact. Within the next three years 2000 of them had left Ireland as they didn't like the place.

Do you know when James and Mary married or where they married I looked at online extracts of Griffith's Valuation for Co. Limerick which took place in 1853. There was a large number of families named Kirby in Limerick at that time but there's no listing for one in Rathkeale. It could be a lengthy process of elimination. If Mary's family are on the Valuation the children's christian names might help ... one or more may have been named after their grandparents.

That is my exact problem  I have jer name ,death date  The children were Sarah b 1816
                      Matilda b1823  m WILSON

That 7 year gap suggests stillbirths or miscarriages
                      Anne or Margaret b1825  m KNAPP[in Canada]
James Gideon b 1827  m WILLIS in Canada
         Sophia b 1829
    Matilda appears to be the only non-Delmage name in the lot
but I have few details on James`s aunts cousins etc
