Hi

Just wondering if anyone knows if there's a register of midwives who were working in the Leeds area in the mid 1930s.

You could try contacting Royal College of Midwives Archives as below, but whether they hold lists of everyone who was once registered as a midwife I don't know.  Also you might come up against the 100 year rule or something.
