Hi Terry

All I know about Irish anything is that I can't understand 'em when they talk.  So it's over to someone else then.............. or a post in the Ireland section?

Good luck

Terry

Question:- WHO ARE THE WITNESSES AT THE MARRIAGE OF HENRY AND EMILY

His medal roll info is below...cost £3-50 online (they will email it to you ). From the medal roll info you will know roughly where he was during the War/s by the nature of the medals.
You have a very good chance of finding his Boer War army records and from that you could have his next of kin, address on enlistment and demob, age, children, plus his movements throughout his term in the army.

Regards
Bryant

Thanks again Casalguidi and Bryant.

Casalguidi,

I have a good contact in Ireland but can you or anybody else for that matter tell me the date when the 1901 census was done. Can't find the date the Census was taken on, not even in the 1901 website.

Bryant,

The witnesses were Elizabeth Jones and it looks like William Henry Morrissey but in effect it could be any person with a long surname that starts with M and ends in Y.
I have Henry John's WWI records but it appears I can't find anything re Boer War / Chelsea Pensioner etc etc without going to London.

Regards
Terry
Looking for Dadds, Wheeler, Seymour, Hammond & Reynolds to name but a few.

Hi Terry

census dates

6 Jun 1841
30 Mar 1851
7 Apr 1861
2 Apr 1871
3 Apr 1881
5 Apr 1891
31 Mar 1901

1841 was in June but they found that too many people were away from home (summer) so they brought if forward.

Hope this helps

Casalguidi
