Hallo. Michael,  The Wootton Parish records for those 2 marriages for those years are only available by reading microfiche at the Beds Archives (or LDS centre) . The only additional info they will provide are marriage witnesses names, perhaps family members being best man/bridesmaid.  In my experence it does not give ages/occupations, it may say where they came from if not 'otp' (of this pairsh) . It is only after 1837 where that information is given.

I note you said you were from Bedford in the 1950's - I have been since 1947 - so where were you from & what school did you go to ?

I'm just nosey - Regards JohnP

Hi JohnP,

Thanks for your interest. I agree I am unlikely to find much more, if any extra information from those records, but as you will be aware from my earlier Bowler post, one extra detail might just help to locate the origins of the elusive shoemaker. I do plan to revisit BLARS later in the year.

I worked "up at Thurleigh" between 1964 and 1972 after which my Goldington born wife and I moved elsewhere.   Then there was the Jazz club at the Fleurs-de-Lys....
