GRIFFIN  PATRICK, Can anyone help me find details of a few ancestors in Ireland please. I have gone as far back as poss in England. But all the Census details says that Patrick was born in Ireland.
The info that I have is:-
Patrick Griffin born abt.1832 in (Poss Kildare- from one of the census's) Ireland
His Father also appeared on the 1871 Census with him - Matthew Griffin Born abt 1804.
I think that Patrick came to england via the curragh camp (the camp info from rumours in the family) this must have been before 1854 as we believe he was married in Hull to Mary Dagnin in this year.

Any help would be appreciated

Griffiths Valuation 1847-1864 has 3 or possibly 4 Patrick Griffins living in Kildare.

Does the reference to the Curragh Camp mean that he was in the army?

Thank you for looking at this, as I understood it from a family rumour before people came across to England the army kept the Irish in the Curragh camp (Not sure if this is true or not). It could be that he was actually in the army but when he was quite young, I'm afraid I'm not sure.
