Tunnicliffe troubles - completed
« on: Tuesday 29 May 07 13:16 BST (UK) »
Hi

I've found Alfred Tunnicliffe [born circa 1878 South Stockton Yorkshire] in the census records of 1881 & 1891 living in Thornaby] with his parents Alfred & Eliza. Then nothing. Have tried free BMD and can't find a death that fits. Any ideas?

Hi

Have a look at RG13/4589 Folio 18 Page 27 and see what you think of the original image.

Hello Doug,

From what you say he would have been of an age to have been fighting in the Boer War in 1901.  Have you investigated that possibility?

Many thanks to both of you for your assistance.

It's amazing how extra eyes can pick up things you've stared at for hours.

I reckon if you took away the mistranscriptions it would take the fun out of genalogy [not!]
