Hi Kengland,

according to the UK Villages site there is a Grimsby North -

Go to this site and enter Grimsby North and you will find a map of the area.

Hi,
There is also a North Grimsby in Arbroath- which could explain your difficulty finding his birth if he was registered in Scotland?  :-\ Jan

thanks for your reply darcy, but you mis-read the map, it says grimsby, north-east lincolnshire, not grimsby north, east lincolnshire..

as for scotland, that would be great, but i know he was married in grimsby lincolnshire, it would be v strange for him to have moved from grimsby (scot) to grimsby (eng) thanks for your time though

Karl,
Having lived in Grimsby for longer than I care to remember, I can enlighten you. It is known as Great Grimsby,( old terms in east lindsey). There is no north grimsby as such, an area in grimsby formerly known as The marsh is the area covering parts of the fish and commercial docks. Mainly import of timber and now importing thousands of foreign cars. In the old days in was covered in terraced housing.
