My Gt gt Grandmother was an Irish orphan to Australia c 1849. Those records show that she was Margaret HUNT from Limavady (b c1832)
Her death in Aus. shows father as Richard HUNT. (carpenter)
Where would I look for a birth record and marriage record of parents.
Is this date too early for surviving records.?

Civil registrations of births, deaths & marriages (except Protestant) began in 1864- Protestant marriages in 1845.
Therefore, you need to consider church records for which you have to have an idea of which religion. Church records vary greatly.
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

Margaret's religion is given as Ch. of England on shipping record.
I will explore this further. A record office I guess ??

Civil birth records before 1864 do not exist.
There are several Church of Ireland churches in and around Limavady (formerly Newtownlimavady).
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!
