1841/51 Census Look-up Dunfermline Fife "DAWSON"

Hi All,

I am trying to find a ROBERT DAWSON and his family. Robert Dawson married Anne Bell 02 October 1825 in Dunfermline.

Their children that I know of were:

Alexander born 14 April 1828
Marion born 09 March 1830
Elizabeth born 15 March 1834

They were all born in Dunfermline.

I would also like to find Robert Dawson's birth.

If anyone can help, it would be great. Thanks for looking

In 1851, they'd moved to Kirkaldy:

High St, Kirkaldy

Robert Dawson, 40, chimney sweep, b. Belfast Ireland
Ann, 46, b. Lisburn,  Ireland
Letitia , 16 flax mill worker, b. Glasgow
John, 14, tobacco spinner, b. Glasgow
Sophia, 12, a blind woman b. Dunfermline

I was hoping to find a death but so far I've had no luck    THat would at least show his parents.

And I can't find him on the 1861 - either died 1851-55 or returned to Ireland

Thankyou for all your help but I don't think that this is the corrert Robert Dawson and Ann as mine were both born in Scotland.

Ann bell was born 19 Feb 1809 in Leslie Fife.

I believe that Robert Dawson as actually born in Stirlingshire.

I wonder if they went back to Stirlingshire?

The only other ones that might fit are in Stirling:

Dunipace, Stirlingshire, Parish 478, ED 1A

Robert, 35-39, ag lab, b. Stirlingshire
Agnes,35-39, b. Stirlingshire
and children including an Elizabeth aged 6, b. Stirlingshire

None of the children besides Elizabeth match with your names.Could you give more information - e.g. sources

Thanks once again for all your Help, it is very much appreicated!!

The Robert Dawson that you found with Agnes and Elizabeth does seem to fit in. I do not know if I have all their children, only the ones that I found on the IGI.

Robert Dawson is the one that I am having trouble with the most, especially finding information on. I am not even sure who's his parents are any more.
 
I do know that Robert and his brother Alexander went to Fife at some stage as they both married sister's Helen and Ann Bell.
Robert and Ann's daughter Elizabeth was born 15 March 1834, so between 1834 and 1841 Ann could of died and Robert remarried the Agnes that you found. Well it is a hunch anyway!

Once I get some more credit for Scotlands People I will do some more digging to see what else I can find. I will also be seeing my Mum on Saturday, who I am helping with these Dawson's so I will try and find out some more inforamtion an get back to you.
