Help with place name please - Ohio- COMPLETED- THANK YOU.
« on: Saturday 02 June 07 19:59 BST (UK) »
Can anyone help me with this place name from a letter written by my ancestor George Grindley, home to his family in Wales please?

He says his nephew lives in a place called **** Ohio. It looks like Heatly to me, but I can't find that place anywhere.

Any suggestions please?

Many thanks,

Bev.

It does look like Heatly but can't find that in my U.S. atlas, etc.
There is a place in Ohio called Heath (outside Newark and east of Columbus). Any idea where in Ohio it could be?
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

use
Lat: 38.9167  decimal degrees
Long: -82.2833  decimal degrees

If you zoom to +3 you will see there is a Heatley Rd in Bidwell

zoom out 4 from the bottom you can see the relationship to Cincinnati

Thank you so much - that explains it then!

I wondered whether it could be Heath, but it didn't look like it in the letter which was written in 1890, so this ties it in perfectly.

Many thanks,
