Sharp/e family 1841/51/61 census Syston, Leics
« on: Friday 08 June 07 12:33 BST (UK) »
Hello,
I'm trying to track down my 2x great grandfather's early years in the 1841/51/61 censuses.

He was George Sharp (sometimes spelt Sharpe) b 1837 Syston, Leics. He was a plumber and glazier and his parents were Thomas and Ann Sharp.

I have George on the 1871 and 1881 censuses in Syston,  when he is married to Ellen Baker. They married 13.2.1861 in Syston.

Is anyone able to help?

Hi,

my name is Sharp,  and my lot also came from Syston originally !!

my grandfather was George Sharp 1823,
his father was John Sharp c 1781 who married Ann Glover b1792, Frisby,

i have only found John in 1841, as Ann was widow in 1851,  but have no idea who his parents are.........
do you have a John in your research, maybe Thomas' brother perhaps???

look forward to hearing from you

Jane

Hi Jane,

I'll dig my file out and have a look for you....I know there were some other Sharp's in Syston who had no connection to mine...fingers crossed!
