I tried it in negative , didn't help much !   :-\
WOOD in  Hunslet  area of Leeds , West Yorkshire
WOOD in Knottingley , West Yorkshire

Scan your photos at 300 to 600 ppi for best results

ok I am going to post this although I think I have made it worse but it took me hours to do.
I think the writing on the ball is Signals 2nd R.W.E. 1917
