I am still trying to find the birth of Thomas Kemp b Manchester baptised in Manchester Cathedral Nov 1845 His father was James age 30 a butcher and they are together in the 51 census age 6 and In the 61 census Age 16 and 40 living in Hulme. his marriage certificate to Martha Wild shows John St Hulme and his father as James Kemp butcher. I sent for what looked like an appropriate birth certificate for 7 12 1843 and got a father of John Kemp (cotton warper) and mother Ellen Kemp of Greengate Salford which is obviously not right. There was no other likely birth that I could see. On all the censuses Thomas is down as being born in Manchester as is his father James. he wife of James is called Mary Moores.
I have searched BMDs on Ancestry and elsewhere to no avail. I cannot find James Kemp his father in the 1841 census either. He would be 20
I do not know where to go next any ideas?
