Two questions - same census page!
« on: Saturday 16 June 07 20:01 BST (UK) »
On 1861 RG9/2409/66/25

I cannot read the address ........ Court, Gainsborough

Also, Charles Holmes age 7 birthplace is given as ............ Wood.  His birthplace on 1871 and 1881 is given as Upton, so my question is does anyone know of a wood near Upton that can possibly be his actual birthplace?

Thanks in anticipation of help.

Thanks Ricky

I wondered if the address could be Pedlars or Parkers or anything else.  I was hoping someone would have come across it before, but I will go with Packers, thanks.

I found Thurlby near the east coast so discounted that so thought it must say something else.  Will now go and try to find a map.  Thanks.

Yes, also on a modern map http://tinyurl.com/2trruv

Address looks more like Parkers Court in the Enumeration District description

Don't cry because its over. Smile because it happened.

Thanks Geoff, the address does look like Parkers - much more clear.  Thanks also for confirming what Ricky had already given me about the Wood.
