« on: Tuesday 19 June 07 14:54 BST (UK) »
Afternoon all

I am trying to find Frank/Francis Hillman He was Born Trowbridge, Wilts 1865 to James Hillman and Mary Knowles
He joined the Welsh Regiment alongside his older brother (my great grandfather, William) Not sure what year or whether he was killed in action at some point!

Many thanks in advance

In 1881, there is a Frank Hillman born abt. 1861, lodging with a Charles and Rebecca Rose in Devizes. Franks occupation is a coachbuilder.

Thanks
The birth is a few years out but looks like him! I guess he must of joined the army after 81. No sign of him on the 91?

Regards

Can't see a likely candidate in 1891 or 1901.

I think the best thing to do is to locate the rest of his family i.e parents siblings, then go through the full BMD to find a death, if you do not find the death then he most probably didn't die.
