George and Margaret Taylor 1871 census
« on: Wednesday 20 June 07 10:29 BST (UK) »
George and Margaret Taylor married in 1863, in the Ongar registration district. I believe this to have been a marriage later in life.

Margaret was 62 on the 1861 census so would have been 72 in 1871. I believe she died in 1891 in the Ongar district so should be in that area in 1871.

Is anyone able to let me know if there is an entry for them in 1871 please.

Best Regards,
RobertS

To find her in 1861 and determine a PoB, the maiden name would seem to be Nunn - correct ?

If so, she was indeed a Widow in 1861 - in Service in Chelmsford

we can search the 1871 for her - with or without George based on the PoB shown...

Newfy,
Many thanks,
That's her. Her daughter was Eliza Tween. Looks like her husband George didn't last until 1871
Best Regards
Robert

PS - Her first marriage was to William Nunn pre 1835. I am of the the record office at lunchtime to try and track down a maiden name.

Eliza Tween's vitals match those of Margaret's daughter seen in the 1851 census.

So poor Margaret was widowed agin between 1863 and 1871 ...

Heres Eliza's marriage to William Tween

Marriages Sep 1860

Nunn  Eliza    Dunmow  Vol 4a Page 477
Tween  William     do do do

Which begs the question - why - if the 17 year old Henry Eaton is described as 'wife's son' in 1871, did she not marry as Eaton ???

He is with the newly-weds in 1861 ..... but shown as a son.

Newfy,
I have a contact who is from that branch of the family I will let him know about this topic, and see if he can throw some light on this.

Thanks for all your help.
Robert
