According to the family tree he marries Sarah Bray, Their first child was Mary born 1862 in Barnetby, Lincs, Robert was born 1868 Barnetby

Jabez Mapplethorpe

Unfortunately, one possible bride is missing from the index ... but checking the complete index, unless I need new specs, there isn't a Sarah Bray with the same references

I couldn't see a marriage around 1860 ...

Forgot to write Sarah Bray [dau of Robert & Sophia Bones]

married to ? Needham then 2nd marriage [if we can find one] to Jabez

Sarah's dau Mary was Needham who later took maplethorpe name.

I have reason to believe that she may have been Sarah Ann BRAY who had married in 1861 ... I say this solely because she was the only Sarah Ann of the right age and place that I could see in 1851.
