Day family
« on: Monday 25 June 07 15:46 BST (UK) »
Hi
Wonder if you could help me , my great x3 grandfather was born abt 1809 in Reading Berkshire  who was William Day
He then was found in Hackney Middlesex, and had three children
Daniel born abt 1833 great x2 grandfather William born abt 1835 and Emma born in 1846

I have recorded that Williams wife was Esther, but I have just come across some further information that tells me his wife was Phoebe Scott ??

I now feel confused and am I on the wrong track after all  !! and am I looking in the right county !!! ??? :'(

Oh dear - on the 1851 census, William's wife is an Ellen, born 1811, Essex

I couldnt see them in 1841 at 1st glance tho ...

There is quite a gap between William & Emma which may suggest that there was a re-marriage

The 1841 has the family living in Kent but shown as not born in that county

William 30 labourer
Pheb (probably meant to be Phoebe) 30
Daniel 8
William 7

This is a possibility for Emma's birth and a copy of her birth cert will show Ellens maiden name
