That is fine! Here is all the information I have:
1841 Census (St Breock, Wadebridge): Edwin Henwood, 11, son of John and Rebecca Henwood, born in county.
1841 Census (St Leonard's Shoreditch): Edwin Kingdom , 6, listed with his mother Catherine and brother Alfred
1841: William Blake Henwood (eldest son of John and Rebecca Henwood) marries Catherine Kingdom
1851 Census (Westminister): Edwin Henwood, born Middlesex, 17, shop boy, son of Catherine and William Blake Henwood, and brother of Alfred.
1861 Census: Edwin Henwood, private 1/19th Foot, 26, born Middlesex (I know my ancestor was a Crimean War veteran)
1866: A letter from William Blake Henwood states that Edwin and Alfred were both working in Brazil in the early 1860s but that Edwin is back in London now working as a painter.
1866: Edwin Henwood marries Mary Ann Harvey in Marylebone (I have ordered a copy of their marriage certificate to see who he lists as his father)
So up until this point everything fits that this Edwin was the original Edwin Kingdom not the Cornwall Edwin. But then:
1871 Census (Kent): Edwin Henwood, 37, Painter, born TRURO, CORNWALL (wife = Mary Ann)
1874: Edwin Henwood, painter, 44, born CORNWALL, emigrates to NZ on the "Rakaia" with his family.
1908 Census (Christchurch, NZ): Edwin Henwood is living with Horatio Henwood, who is the youngest son of John and Rebecca Henwood.
1909: Edwin Henwood dies Christchurch, NZ. His death certificate lists his father as John Henwood and his birthplace as Cornwall.
Any theories would be most welcome!
