Hi, I am doing some research for my Brother in Law - Robert Gray from Brighton, Sussex. He has asked me to research his parent's tree but I am having difficulty locating the families. Any help would be appreciated.

His Father was Frederick Ellis Gray b. Abt. 1915, Oxford, d. Abt. Jan 1983 Brighton. m. Abt. 1937 Ivy Constance May Coulson b. 1910 Cambridge d. Feb 1988 Brighton.
I am researching the family named Molyneux (or possibly Molineux, Molineaux and Molyneaux (or with 2'LL's or without the 'X')), of South East Lancashire (Wigan, Pemberton and Ormskirk area), England.

Also researching; Fairhurst, Lancaster (Lancaster-Fairhurst), Griffith and Hayden (Haydon)

IF you go to this website you can find Ivy C Coulson birth reg , if you order the certificate will get the parents names from it

I just cannot understand why I cannot not find her. I tried all the usual sites - free BMD, familysearch etc. - to no avail.
I am researching the family named Molyneux (or possibly Molineux, Molineaux and Molyneaux (or with 2'LL's or without the 'X')), of South East Lancashire (Wigan, Pemberton and Ormskirk area), England.

Also researching; Fairhurst, Lancaster (Lancaster-Fairhurst), Griffith and Hayden (Haydon)

She's on FreeBMD! You can also find her in the GRO indices on www.ancestry.co.uk which are free to search

You won't find her on Familysearch because of their 100 year rule

Thanks for your help on this guys.

I cannot understand what I did wrong here. I inputed the data correctly on both Ancestry & free BMD and nothing came up 

I am still having trouble with tracking down her marriage to Frederick Gray in Abt. 1937. I have expanded it to 20 years and tried Soundex and nothing happens.

Where are you looking? If FreeBMD, this period has not been transcribed. You need to go through the indices quarter by quarter on

If you check the June quarter 1937 against Gray you'll find Frederick married Coulson in Brighton registration district 2 b 565

She is indexed as Constance
