Searching for regiments
« on: Sunday 01 July 07 14:14 BST (UK) »
I have this information on my grandfather about his role in WW1:

Fought at Flanders Belgium during WW1.
Awarded the Victory and British medals (Roll=RGA/141B, Page=4048)
Corp: RGA
Rank: Gunner
Reg No.: 78234
Catalogue Ref: WO/372/22

As I can't find his death certificate is there any more info I can find using any of the above information?

This is the first relative that I have knowledge on fighting in one of the wars and this is a completely new area to me.
Derby: WOODCOCK (Donnington)
Devon: HARRIS (Plymouth)
Lancashire: DERRICK
Lincolnshire: CROPPER, WOODCOCK (Boston)
London: BARKER, DUGGIN, HARRIS, HINTON, HULBERT, WHITE
Wales: HARRIS, PRITCHARD (Pembrokeshire)
Warwickshire: DERRICK, WOODCOCK
Desperate for my Woodcocks from Birmingham!

Hi Zeb,
RGA is Royal Garrison Artillery.

Have a look at this site, as it's really helpful: http://www.1914-1918.net/

Good luck,

Hi Zeb !

The Roll and page can be looked up at Kew, to give you more information.

As I can't find his death certificate is there any more info I can find using any of the above information?

If he died in the war, his death certificate maybe in the overseas section of the GRO, and won't really tell you anymore than the Commonwealth War Graves Commission website www.cwgc.org
