Hello eileen,

Couldn't make out much , It looks like 'hardware' on the main window .

Maybe you could look for the shop next door on the census. It could be possibly 'Davidsons'

You need a location and approximate date though   :-\

PS , I hope you don't want your car restoring    ;D

Jim, my Humber Sceptre was restored, apart from the accelerator cable , it stuck on full throttle, did,nt have the fund's or the heart to restore it again.  the shop I am hoping is in Lincoln anywhere between 248 and 262 High street,   lot of scope , I have the directory for Lincoln 1901 and 1903, but I cannot see anything that fit's , but's that's because I cannot read any of the hidden clue's on the picture. ???   Eilleen.

I've just had a look at the 1897 directory for High street, Lincoln, there is a Ruston and Dawkins, woodturners, could the shop on the left read Dawkins. ??? ??? ??? Eilleen.

Hi Eileen
Been playing about with the photo, and I think is a hardware shop by looking at the writing on the windows
