I thankyou for that, what I am trying to prove , or not , as the case maybe, two gentlemen named Buttery, lived at 260 high street, one was a chain maker, nail maker, etc, the other a tobacconist. I have 1881,1885, 1894, 1895, 1899, 1901 and 1903 trade directory for that part of the high street, but I need now to pin down this Davidson

then it would be correct that the shop with the big horseshoe is the Buttery family, still with me
