Hi Angie

This looks a possibility for Alexander and family in 1891, not sure what his wife's name but the only entry coming up that connects with the Alexander in 1881 in Ochiltree:

Alexr Brown    50, Farm Worker, b. Ochiltree
Maggie Brown    34, b. Ochiltree
David Brown    4, b. Ochiltree
Thos Brown    2, b. Fenwick, Ayrshire

Address: 8 Church St, Ayr, Ayrshire

And in 1901:

Alexander Brown 59, agr. lab., b. Ochiltree
Margaret Brown    43, b. Ochiltree
David Brown    14, b. Ochiltree
Alexar K W Brown 9, b. Straiton, Ayrshire
Martha W Brown    6, b. Straiton, Ayrshire
Mary K Brown    1, b. Straiton, Ayrshire
Jane Gibson    20, servant - housekeeper, b. , b. Barrhill, Ayrshire
Mary Laddar    16, general serv. b. Dalmellington, Ayrshire
Jane McLean    18, general serv, Craigmark, Ayrshire
Hugh Sharp    52, farm servant, b. Old Cumnock, Ayrshire

Address: Grimmet, Straiton

Regards.

Thanks everyone I have found Alexander's death in Coylton and a further set of Brown's in Staiton. Also Alexander was the son of David Brown and Mary Kennedy , whose parents were Alexander and Martha from Kirkoswald. Thanks again I am sure I will be trouble again veru soon!!! :)

Mary Kennedy had more siblings than that, they can be seen on the Kirkoswald OPR or discovered on IGI by taking Martha's surname out as the spelling varied quite a bit. I have 6 children to this marriage.
