Thomas Spencer, Sarah Kirkland Rodger

I am hoping to find descendants of the above couple, who came to to Victoria, Australia, in 1911, on the SS Themistocles.
They has 8 children born in Scot. and has 2 more out here, around Melbourne area. Thomas & Sarah were married in Irvine, Ayrshire in 1888. Any info. about the family would be much appreciated.

Hi Christine, I am hoping to find living relies. I have managed to find most of the children and some of their partners, BUT a ling relie. would be wonderful!!!

I think you may have to fill in the gaps a bit for us then if you wish to trace forward to present day.

It is possible that a person on rootschat might step forward as a descendant, but hard to be to hopeful of this happening.

Therefore you may need to get marriage/death certificates for those offspring you believe you have located  and move forward into a children search.

Some on the board will help given a few more clues if you need.

Thanks sparrett.....I have managed to find death certs. for most of the children....and some marriages.

One of the girls, Jean Spencer married a ? Cross and died in Tallangatta,Vic. in 1957

Jessie Spencer, who was born in Vic.1912, seems to have married a ? Patterson. She died 1978

John Clark Spencer married Elsie Heffernan, in 1927and died in 1958.

Thanks also to tropicalj.....I am actually looking for the Spencer side of the family....and I have looked in the white pages, but don't know enough about the families to know if I am on the right track....but even dead relie. info. would be great!!!

Yes, Thomas was born in Ayrshire, and the fact that his parents were married in Irvine, could be our Thomas. His was born in 1892. I will look at that site you mentioned....Thanks for that
