Good Evening. I am a descendent of Thomas Grooby Worrell. He is my grandfather x4. He is the founding Canadian Worrell family member. He is buried in the Old Cemetery in Halifax, Nova Scotia. He died shortly after arriving. I have his death recoreded as 22 Jan 1782. His son, George continued the Worrell name in the Maritimes. Thomas and his wife ( Margaret Lawson) were married  at Christ's Church, Boston Mass. 26 July 1765 but I have been unable to locate their marriage certificate.
I have no idea where he originated or how he came to the U.S.

Found this on the National Archives index search:
http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/catalogue/displaycataloguedetails.asp?CATLN=7&CATID=-5905183&j=1

Dated 1720, it mentions "William Worrall barber of Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire and Mary Worrall his wife (formerly Mary Grooby a daughter of William Grooby tailor of Hounsditch, London)"

Seems likely that your Thomas Grooby Worrall was related to these two.  They married 14th April 1720 (google their names, you will find them!) so about right for Thomas to be their son?

Seems that National Archives also have Wills for William Worrall and Mary Worrall of Melton Mowbray, downloadable for a small fee:

Hope that helps
