Hi, am trying to trace two brothers David and John Barber, born in 1920s in Leigh on Sea.  tey are sons of my Aunt, Violet Barber nee Bravey.  Violet was sister to George, Reginald and Charles Bravey of Cardiff.

If you look through the full birth indexes at
http://www.ancestry.co.uk/search/rectype/vital/freebmd/bmd.aspx
for each year (and each quarter within each year) for the 1920's , for David and John Barber's with mothers maiden name Bravey, then hopefully you can pinpoint their year of birth.

Then, IF they died between 1984 and 2005, you may be lucky and get their deaths on the database for those years, on the same link.
A death cert may give a widows name if they were married, or maybe a son or daughters name. Also an address at time of death. A will may then give further info as to what family they had or where they lived att eh time it was made.

The Salvation Army can sometimes help to find lost family.

Could the 2 boys have served in WW2?  It mighty be worth checking the CWGC site in case they did not survive.
