Daniel Dennehy and Mary Bastable
« on: Saturday 21 July 07 13:36 BST (UK) »
Looking for anyone with information or links to the couple Daniel Dennehy and Mary Bastable.

They lived in the townland of Breahig, Cordal, Castleisland.

By the LDS site they had a daughter Margaret in 1848. And also a son Thomas.

I think that this couple are my great great grand parents. Just need to get more information on them to get proof.

I think they may have moved from Breahig to the townland of Bawnaglanna, Currow at some stage.

Hello Gerard,

There are three items you require when searching for Irish ancestors.

1. Denomination.
2. Parish
3. Townland

You have the parish and townland but the denomination would make it easier to find the Church which Daniel and Mary attended in Ireland.

You'll have to rely on Church records as civil registration in Ireland was not introduced until 1864. Non Catholic marriages were registered from 1845 onwards. When registration for BDMS started in 1864 some people didn't bother with the registration for a few years after that date. Keep your fingers crossed that church records still exist.
