Hiya all
I came across this in the 1871 Census whilst tracking the Wragg family - can anyone read what it says under married after Mary Anne's name?
I found the family in 1861 when Marys husband George is listed with the family and in 1881 when Mary is listed as married and running a fancy goods shop but I can't find George at all. I'm hoping that if someone can figure this out for me it might give me an idea of where to look
Thanx

Thanx both of you that makes more sense I kept seeing it as 'husband in police'
In the 1861 census his occupation is listed as M R G Labourer. Guess this might be something to do with the railways
The fun bit now is finding out what happened to them as I cant find either of them after 1881

Hi
I think, in 61, it says MRC - Midland Railway Company?
Perhaps he was in India building the railway.
Cheers

Hiya Ian
Yes thats my thinking too. Now did they both die before 1891 or did Mary go and join him? Another puzzle for my brain to sort lol
