Buried in Bradford?
« on: Monday 23 July 07 19:44 BST (UK) »
I am wondering if anyone would mind helping me with the death of my gt gt grandfather - Richard Keightley.

I am in the process of putting a family tree chart together for my Dad's 60th birthday later this year and I'm just filling in the final details.

I have found what I believe to be my gt gt grandfathers death index number but I haven't got the certificate yet.

He died in the Dec. Q. of 1905 in the Bradford district and I would like to know where he was buried as I have had a look round the graveyard in the village in North Lincolnshire where he lived for most of his life and found his wife ( my gt gt grandmother) but I can't find him so I am presuming he must be somewhere in the Bradford district.

If anyone has access to disks or books etc and wouldn't mind having a look for me I would be very grateful.

Thanks,

Sarah

Hi,

I'm really sorry for my delay in replying.

I really don't have any idea where he was living.  He lived his entire life in Lincolnshire and on the 1901 census he was still in Lincolnshire, so I don't know where he was living at the time of his death.

I am ordering his death cert so hopefully I'll get more answers then.

Thanks.

I've got the cert today and he died in the Bowling sub-district at 132 New Cross Street and his son was the informant and he was living at 14 Hopbine Avenue (it looks like Hopbine).

Do you happen to know the most likely place of burial for that place?

HI

I've checked my map and you are quite right it is Hopbine Avenue.

I have also found that Bowling Cemetery is only 8 minutes by car away from the address that Richard had lived at, and Richard lived only 2 minutes away from his son.

At the moment I can't find contact details for Bowling but their is a Friends of Bowling Cemetery - here is their address they may be ableto help you.
