Hi  :)

First impressions are that they are New Zealand artillery men.

Reid: Nicol: Peterhead and Aberdeen
McDonald: Greig: Milne: Aberdeenshire
Moreland: Lanarkshire, Whitehaven in Cumbria and Ireland
Cunningham: Lanarkshire, Cumbria and Ireland
Halliday: Falkirk, Stirlingshire and Ireland
Redpath: Stirlingshire and Banbridge

Can you tell us anymore about the photo? I don't suppose you have any names for the soldiers, have you!! as it states the photo is unknown.  :P

I would agree with Atom on this showing two soldiers from the New Zealand Army (the big give away is the "lemon squeezer" hats that the girls are holding) from the 1st ww. They have bandoliers across their chests and a flaming grenade as a collar badge which would also signify to me to that they are from the artillery. The hat on the right shows a cap badge, is there any chance that just that part of the photograph can be made bigger so that we might see what it is?

Thanks Perth, certainly looks like the cap badge of the Royal New Zealand Artillery. It would be that same for the Royal Artillery cap badge of the British army being a canon facing left but with the letters NZ replacing that of "ubique" above the gun. The hat band would be dark blue either side of a central stripe of red.
