How do I find out more about a Margaret Reid (Domestic Servant) who had an illegitamate child (named James Reid) on Oct.8th 1873 at West Port,  Linlithgow?

I would like to know if she married and who to?

Difficult one this!!!

Have you tried Scotlandspeople, you will get the birth cert for James there and it might give the fathers name. You can also search for a marriage by Margaret.

Hallo
Thanks - I have the Birth certificate for James Reid (illegitimate) but unfortunately it does not give the age of the mother (margaret reid) nor  the father's name, nor her parents - I have nothing else to go on.
where do I go from here?   All I have is her address at the time of the birth which is West Port., Linlithgow.
