Hi
Can anyone please help me with this conundrum?
I know that the houses in Prospect Road, Scarborough, were re-numbered at some point due to the building of newer properties, but I can't be certain when. I only know this because I have found the address of my g-grandfather Horatio Dobson in the 1891 census, where it is listed as 97 Prospect Road, Scarborough. But somewhere down the line I have added the comment 'now 137 Prospect Road' and don't know how or why I came across that fact!
(I know, I know - write out 100 times "I must always annotate my data and corrections"!)The main reason why I want to know is that I have TWO more rellies who lived in Prospect Road, one in the same (1891) census at 77 - which I now presume to be 117 - but also my grandfather (a Bird, not a Dobson, but a very strange coincidence!) who lived at number 78 in 1933. But was that house number 78
AFTER the new building had taken place, making it still 78 now, or was it 78 pre- new build, making it 118 now?

Is there a list of municipal building works in the library? Or does someone know off-hand? Come on Ticker -
YOU'RE the Scarborough expert!!

I will be embarking upon a photography trip next week, and want to make sure that I get the correct ones. And yes - I know that the best line of enquiry is photograph 78
AND 118 just in case!
Thanks in anticipation!
