« on: Thursday 02 August 07 16:02 BST (UK) »
Hi,
can someone find this girl for me?

It's possible that in 1851 she might be in the workhouse.

Jane Gilbert-born c 1832-born Tallington,Lincolnshire.

The other members of her family who she might be with are:-

Joseph GILBERT-father-born 1797-Tallington
Mary Gilbert-mother-born c 1804-Tallington
Mary Gilbert-sister-born c 1830-Tallington
Martha-sister-born c 1834-Tallington
Solomon-brother-born c 1836-Tallington
John-brother-born c 1840-Tallington

Many thanks
Trisha ;D ;D ;D

yes I've just noticed that Patrish - I was just going to point out that there are two Jane Gilbert marriages on Free BMD where Mr Bradshaw could be a groom- and the 1866 marriage seems to be the one- Peterborough.

I wonder if it's the right Jane Gilbert we have both been looking for?

A little while ago there was a long discussion about this kind of scenario - as was pointed out then - it's the knowing that there is another thread that is important.

As I'm sure other people do, I looked into your profile TrishaG because I wasn't sure if you would want other Gilbert family members. That's when I noticed the other thread and Mr Bradshaw. I then thought that it was a bit iffy as I had found her single in 1861.
I then saw Patrish had spotted Mr Bradshaw with her in 1861 so checked Free BMD. Now I wonder if Jane Gilbert, Tallington has been supposed from the Sheffield marriage or the other way round- that you really wanted Jane, Tallington - and supposed that she married in Sheffield.  :-\

It is a bit of a disappointment (in terms of time spent) when you find out that all the valuable info has already been supplied - fortunately in this case it was earlier rather than later.  :)

Heywood,
I wasn't trying to do anything "iffy" as you put it.What I was trying to do  was see if the girl who was married to Mr Bradshaw(who someoneon GenesReunited had got in contact with me about)  was my Jane Gilbert on my tree.If they both appeared at the same time on the same census then I would know it wasn't the same Jane Gilbert. There are a lot of Gilberts in South Lincs.
The only thing I should have done was look further on in time on FreeBMD and find the other marriage.
Trisha.
