how can i find her???

hi everyone
im new to this site and need a little help my nan is looking for an old friend who she was in the land army with in 1946 but i have no idea where to start can any one give me any ideas on how i may be able to find her . any suggestions would be great

You could try posting a message on sites such as:

It is possible that somebody on here has access to a recent national electoral register which lists everybody who registered to vote in that particular year if you know their full name.

Assuming that it is a female that you are looking for, might she have married ........... you may want to find details of the marriage to find out her married name.

If you post on here some further details of the person that you are trying to locate ie. name(s)/places/age etc., then you will get lots of help and advice I'm sure.
