« on: Sunday 05 August 07 09:33 BST (UK) »
Hi All

I have Margaret Foley born Ireland c 1882, nee Doherty died 5/10/1918, address 321 Kilbowie Road Clydebank, age 36, husband Thomas Patrick Foley. Given the date & being Catholic, can someone please give me a likely burial place in Clydebank.
Would really appreciate any suggestions.

Hi maybe Old Kilpatrick cemetery, or Dalnottar cemetery.

My ancestors were from Clydebank, and are buried in Old Kilpatrick cemetery.

You could try and ask them here....

clydebank.local.history@west-dunbarton.gov.uk
or look on the council page, they will have a burial section for enquires.

Good luck.

Hello again Pettsy

Have sent off an email but when I looked at the deaths for both of them I noticed both deaths were registered in Dalmuir. Could that possibly mean something. Googled Dalmuir but came up with a 15+ site & that scared me off a bit.

Hi Ruth
My ancestors lived in Dalmuir and Duntocher, both are in Clydebank, so the library will cover both areas.

The local Registrary office was in Dalmuir. Then there were two with one being in Kilbowie Road-it is now in the new council offices in Roseberry Place & the Dalmuir one is long gone.
My parents Births Marriage & all of ours & even my Grandparents were registered here.
Most likely burial place is Kilbowie Cemetery which is off Kilbowie Road above the shopping Centre.
