John Porter Completed.
« on: Sunday 12 August 07 19:38 BST (UK) »
1851 census shows John Porter, b1798 Keisby, and Mary,b 1799 North Witham. 1881 show Mary,  b1797 North Witham, whats two years on a census? I cannot find any Keisby details on IGI. Please can anyone look up JP's birth?,and  their marriage, first child born 1820, North Witham. I cannot find any North Witham marriages, but have found 3 possible Marys christened. Thank You MIK.

North Witham comes under the Beltisloe deanery. For 1813-37 there is the following entry:

John PORTER and Mary RUSSEL, 4th May 1820, at North Witham.

Many Thanks Rover72, Mary R is one of my three possibilities. I still cannot find John's birth/christening details, but this puts me one step forward. Thanks MIK.

Following further research from the answer to my earlier request, i have two new requests. Mary Russel's parents were Samuel and Susannah, nee Hardy,I'm guessing married about 1797 and Sussannah's parents were William and Catherine nee Clark, again a guess married about1775. Can anyone confirm that these marriages took place and confirm details. Many Thanks MIK.

First RUSSELL child may have been Elizabeth, bap 3 Feb 1796.  Can't see a marriage.

Perhaps first HARDY child was Elizabeth bap 1771 Colsterworth.

Possible marriage to Catherine LORD at Gunby near Grantham, 27 Feb 1771 (next village to North Witham)
Don't cry because its over. Smile because it happened.

In Beltisloe deanery marriage index for 1754-1812, there are:

Samuel RUSSEL & Susannah HARDY, 1795 at North Witham.

William HARDY & Catherine LORD, 1770 at Gunby St Nicholas.

Many Thanks to both of you for your answers. One last question does the Lincoln Records office have North Witham parish registers? The marriage one doesnt' seem to be online of Familysearch site. Once again many Thanks MIK.
