Elizabeth listed in 1901 Census Everton Liverpool as age 26
    there is a Mary Patterson age 40 listed as a visitor - probably her mother
    also a son Francis Moore listed (my GF)

Elizabeth woulod have been born in 1873.

There's no John Patterson, rigger, listed in the 1877 Directory of Belfast and Ulster. There are three Johns listed for that year ...

1. a grocer at 56, Old Lodge Roa
2. a clerk at 45, Osborne Street
3. a boarding house keeper at 8, Great Edward Street

There are no riggers in the 1870 Directory either ....

Hi Christopher - thanks for looking up that information.  I am not sure how to find her -- unless I can find the birth indexes?  Is that something I can find at LDS?  Is it possible that his occupation was different in 1873 than in 1891?

24 October 1872, Margaret Elizabeth Patterson, father William John Patterson, mother Mary Clarke, Belfast No.3 District.
Here is their marriage:
25 February 1865  William John Patterson/Mary Clark in Killyleagh Second Presbyterian Church, Killyleagh, Co. Down.

Mary Jane Patterson to W.J./Mary Clarke, 17 May 1867, Killyleagh, Co.Down
Isabella Patterson to W.J./Mary Clarke, 6 Nov. 1870,Belfast No.3 Antrim
Mary Jane Lynn Patterson to W.J./Mary Clarke, 24 Oct. 1872, Belfast, No.3Antrim
Margaret Elizabeth Patterson (this one you have) 24 Oct.1872, Belfast
Martha Patterson, to W.J. /Mary Clarke,12 Dec. 1874, Antrim
Isabella and Mary Jane Lynn were both in Emerald Ancestors
If you look at Griffiths Valuation you will find quite a few Clarkes and Pattersons, notably in the townlands of Tullyveery and Shrigley.  These were mostly employed in the mills.
