P.S.S.

I was just about to order the certificate on line, when I realised it costs £23.00!!!!! Are they kidding  :o

It'll have to be a trip to Myddleton Street then.

did you try to get the birth cert from the GRO?

it should cost £7.00

if you ask for it to be checked and it is incorrect they will only charge you £4.00 but not send the certificate.

are you in the UK?

Hi there,

Thanks so much for all your help!

Can you give me a link to order online for £7? I stopped when I found they wanted twenty three quids in the site I was on.

I'm in North London, so a visit to the Family Record Office is quite easy.....it's just that I'm so impatient!

Thanks,

Linda

Yep, it should be £7 - the same on line or in person at the FRC.

Use the link Toni gave you.

It should be £7 if you know the reference. As it is on the Free BMD that is easy to find. Dont think I quoted it when I gave you the look up details. HAng on and I'll look it up again for you.....

OK:
Kathleen Steele
Apr/May/Jun 1910

That should get it for £7!

Hi there,

Got the certificate!!

Kathleens' father is Leonard Thomas Keith Steele. Her mother is Ellen Steele formerly Read. I'm a bit curious about that wording. Doesn't it usually say "late", rather than "formerly"?
